Over in Kits sector tonight, it's a domestic sort of scene; for the next few cycles, the two-sprite apartment is home to four sprites while Dot and Bob adjust to married life.

From within the apartment's kitchen, AndrAIa calls out to her and Matrix's two charges.

"Enzo, Dani, dinner's ready!"

"Cool!" Grinning, Dani puts down the action figure she's been playing with and hurries to the kitchen.

Enzo drops his (it's his turn to play the villain) and patters after. "What's to eat?"

"Crufty Joes and HomepageFries," the Game sprite replies from the counter.

She's just finishing the assembly of said meal, so they'll have to wait just a moment longer.

Enzo skids to a halt and stares at the two primary food items.

"...which is which?"

Enzo should be feeling a slight pain in his side right about now, 'cause Dani's just jabbed her elbow into his side.

"Be nice!" she hisses.

"Oof!"

What? He was serious. There's not a lot of visual difference.

"The Crufty Joes are the dark brown piles, and the HomePageFries are the light brown piles."

Matrix smiles. No, there's not much difference. Neither he nor AndrAIa are much for appearance. Well, at least he isn't.

"Okay, that makes sense," Dani replies. It takes her a nano or two to detect the slight color difference between the two piles.

AndrAIa places plates down at the three places set at the small table in the kitchen and drags the extra chair over to the vacant spot.

"Alright then, boys and girl, have a seat and then we can eat"

She snags her own plate, and since there's barely room for three at the table, she seats herself on the bit of countertop closest to the table.

Enzo takes a seat and eyes his plate dubiously. Past experience, however, has proven that the older sprites' food tastes a lot better than it looks, so after a moment, he digs in.

Well, if Enzo's eating it then it must be okay, so Dani follows his lead.

Matrix forks a large helping of the HomePage, then shoves it into his mouth and swallows, barely chewing it beforehand.

Speaking around a smaller yet still unswallowed mouthful, he interrogates the table’s younger pair. “Who won the battle of the action figures?”

The other Enzo is eating pretty similarly. Perhaps the Academy will have a civilizing influence on this one. We can hope.

"No wum yeff," he says before swallowing. "But she has to, I'm playing Dr. Bogosity." Because, obviously, the malware cannot win.

The evening ages and the males of the household are banished from the bedroom for the evening. AndrAIa glances over at Dani, motioning towards the bed.

"Which side do you want?"

"Hmm...this side's fine," Dani replies, pointing to the side of the bed that's on her right.

[notascreensaver]

"Wonderful," she states while walking over to the unclaimed side of the bed. "I like this side better, anyway."

She crawls into the bed and stretches out for a moment before turning her attention back to the younger sprite.

"You know, I half expected you to make a break for it when you saw our cooking tonight."

"Well, if I was going to make a break for it, it probably would have been after I tasted it," Dani replies slyly.

She sits down on her side of the bed. "Hey, AndrAIa?"

She shifts a bit to look at Dani. "Yeah?"

"Thanks...for letting me stay here, I mean," she replies, suddenly shy.

[notascreensaver]

AndrAIa smiles tenderly, reaching across the bed and squeezing her shoulder gently.

"You're always welcome here, Dani. No matter what. Alright?"

Dani grins. "Alright."

[notascreensaver]

Her shoulder gets one more squeeze and AndrAIa settles back into place. She wracks her mind for something intelligible to say and fails spectacularly and turns to Dani again with a wry smile.

"I'm afraid all that time Game-hopping has me out of practice with this 'girl talk' thing."

Dani responds with a wry grin of her own.

"I spent the first part of my life living in Vlad's hideout, and the next part until I found Milliways on the run. I'm not real great at 'girl talk', either."

She looks pensive for a moment.

"Well, we can suss this out together, then. Is there anything you'd like to talk about?"

Dani screws up her face in thought.

"What's it like living in a game?" she asks, finally. She means no offense by it in any way; it was the first thing that popped into her head and out of her mouth.
